  3. Each player chooses a Racer and takes the corresponding pawn and profile card.
  4. Each player is dealt one secret Sponsor Card. Keep it hidden from other players!
  5. All players place their pawns on the Start/Finish Line (Space 1).
  6. Decide on the number of laps for the race (e.g., 1 for a Quick Race, 3 for a Standard Race, 5 for a Grand Prix).

4. How to Play

On your turn, follow these steps:

  1. Check Status Effects: If you have any status effects, apply them now.
  2. Play Items (Optional): You can play one item from your hand.
  3. Roll & Move: Roll two dice and move your pawn forward that many spaces.
  4. Advanced Movement (Optional):
    • Braking: You can choose to move fewer spaces than you rolled.
    • Drafting: If you end your turn 3 or fewer spaces behind another player, move forward 2 extra spaces.
  5. Resolve Space: Follow the rules of the space you landed on.
  6. Draw Items: If you landed on an Item Box, draw one Item Card.
  7. End Turn: Your turn is now over. Play passes to the player on your left.

5. The Board

  • Start/Finish Line (Space 1): Where the race begins and ends. Each time you pass this space, you complete a lap.
  • Item Boxes: Land here to draw an Item Card.
  • Boost Pads: Move forward 3-8 spaces.
  • Oil Slicks: Slide back 3-8 spaces.
  • Shortcuts: Bridges that let you jump ahead on the track.
  • Hazard Zones: Dangerous spaces that can cause you to spin out.
  • Pit Stop (Space 25): An optional stop to remove all your debuffs.
  • Sharp Corners: When you land here, roll one die. On a 3+, you're safe. On a 1-2, you get a "Slowed" status effect for one round.

6. Racers & Abilities

  • The Daredevil: Can re-roll one die per turn.
  • The Mechanic: Once per lap, can discard an item to ignore a hazard or debuff.
  • The Trickster: Can place Banana Peels up to 15 spaces ahead instead of 10.
  • The Heavyweight: Is unaffected by "Bomb" items.
  • The Speedster: Has a permanent +1 to their movement rolls.
  • The Lucky Star: Starts the game with a "Shield" item.

7. Items

  • Red Shell: Target a player ahead of you. They roll one less die on their next turn.
  • Blue Shell: A boost for everyone else! All other players move forward 3 spaces.
  • Mushroom: Add 6 to your next movement roll.
  • And many more! Discover all the items as you play.

8. Status Effects

  • Slowed: Subtract 2 from all your rolls for 2 turns.
  • Confused: Roll 1 die instead of 2 for your next turn.
  • Damaged: Move backward 2 spaces at the start of each turn (lasts 3 turns).
  • Overheated: Cannot use items for 2 turns.

9. Advanced Rules

  • Braking: A simple but powerful tool. Use it to avoid overshooting a crucial space.
  • Drafting: Stay close to your opponents to get a free speed boost.
  • Cornering: A risk-reward mechanic. Do you risk spinning out for a shorter path?

10. Sponsor Cards

Your secret Sponsor Card gives you a special mission. If you complete it, reveal the card and claim your reward! This can be a game-changing advantage.

11. Winning the Game

The first player to complete the designated number of laps and cross the finish line is the winner and the new Turbo Slick Champion!
